Tom Cullen Photography, a bit about me...

Hi, I’m Tom a wedding photographer from Kent with a passion for capturing natural moments that tell your story.

Not being the “barking orders” type of guy I aim to fit in and be part of your day, to make you and your guests feel more relaxed about having a photographer around.

I capture the details that are unique to you and before the big day we will meet up to get to know each other a bit and discuss any specific shots you guys want to be taken at the wedding.

Being an old school chap I mostly use prime lenses (nerd alert!), which gives a sharp image and renders colour in a beautiful way. I like to work with natural light, which means I haven’t got a flash pointed in your face all day.

Also you have taken the time to create the ambiance you want on your day, a flash going off constantly isn’t ideal. However once the sun is starting to set we can get some cool creative shots using some lights.

I am friendly and have a good sense of humour, striving to make you and your guests feel comfortable with being in front of the camera.

I am tall standing at 6'7. It's pretty handy for photography, it's all about the angles

I have an irrational fear of flying. Just one of the things I have in common with Mr T

My loud Dad voice has been called upon to be master of ceremonies on a number of occasions

I won a Blue Peter badge for designing a train of the future... That's right, my wife is a lucky lady

A bit more about me… I am a Kent Wedding Photographer originally from South London, now living in Maidstone with my wife Jo and our daughter Ruby.

I have always been into photography, taking photos since I was a child. When I first started I was using film and I learned to develop in a makeshift dark room in the bathroom. I believe that using film and learning the rudiments of photography has given me a good understanding of the art form. I still have a film camera and looking to use it more in 2022.

One of the most amazing days of my life was getting married, the anticipation and preparation that goes into the day is both exciting and overwhelming. We were so lucky to have a great wedding photographer to capture the moments that we treasure. This inspired me to start my own photography business.
